Day 98: Friday, July 22nd: We had planned to spend today in Kingston catching up on provisioning, uploading pictures and logs for the web site and general tourist things. Bill went to an internet café while Ruth did some grocery shopping and general shopping (that girl can be dangerous with a credit card). We relaxed for some of the day for a change.
We had tickets for a dinner cruise through the 1000 Islands region. This area is in the St. Lawrence River east of Kingston and is a wonderful cruising Mecca for boats. It is pristine, beautiful and home of over 1800 small islands - each offering its own charm.
The cruise boat embarked just the other side of the Basin. Walking over, we passed this sculpture/fountain in the park that is supposed to symbolizes the unity of the ten provinces and three territories of Canada:
On the way back to Kingston, three hours after departure, the sunset was picture perfect:
