As soon as Ruth indicated she was willing to undertake doing "The Loop", Bill went into action:
Once we owned the boat, the work to fit her up and prepare for a year aboard began:
1.
Joined the "America's Great Loop Cruisers Association" (AGLCA).
2.
Ordered a copy of Honey... Let's Get a Boat by Ron and Eva Stob. 3.
Registered to attend Trawler Fest in Solomons, MD in October. 4.
Registered to attend TrawlerPort at the Annapolis In-the-Water Boat Show (October). 5.
Began a search on the internet for the "perfect" boat for the cruise. 6.
Signed up to attend the AGLCA Rendezvous at Joe Wheeler State Park in Alabama (October). 7.
Read everything he could find about the Loop. 8.
Signed up for "Trawlers and Trawlering" and "The Great Loop" lists on the internet. 9.
Got a slight sailor's swagger in his gait. 10.
Started tuning his "Captain" look
. 11.
And, Oh, yes...finding the proper boat! 12.
And finaly becoming a licensed CAPTAIN!
