Day 90: Thursday, July 14th: This morning we got tickets (no charge) to be in a guided tour of two of the Parliament buildings - Central Block and East Block. The tours were excellent. In the East building, there are several offices and meeting rooms that have been restored to be like they were in the early 1800s. They had actors in several of the rooms who played the roles of the early Prime Minister's wife or one of the Governors General. Nicely done.
It was fun to be standing in the room where decisions were made by the first Canadian Ministers discussed and decided matters that would shape the country for years to come.
We wanted to return to a high point from yesterday's tour, The Museum of Civilization; but it was a complicated thing, due to timing to be there when the Museum was free and coordinating bus rides. Bill opted to not go, while Ruth went ahead. Bill returned to the boat to try to charge batteries (we had been without electrical hook-ups for five days).
We were surprised to realize we took NO pictures today; a true first. Most of what we did was indoors, and not easy to photograph.
