Day 89: Wednesday, July 13th: Today we planned to watch the "Changing of the Guard" on the Parliament lawn . It was a pretty morning, still hot, with a chance of rain predicted for the afternoon. At 10:00am sharp the band turned onto the Parliament grounds:
Next on the agenda was to take a bus tour of the city aboard an open air double-decked bus. The clever tour is narrated by a guide and lasts for two hours. It goes to many of the attractions of Ottawa and Gatineau. You can get on or off the bus at any of the attractions, stay there for a while, then get on the next bus. Cool way to see the main attractions. We opted to stay on the bus and planned to come back tomorrow to a couple of the attractions. Neat tour, but we didn't take any pictures.
We had a late lunch at one of dozens of sidewalk pubs; it was very good. On the way back to the boat, we passed this interesting sculpture with the young girl playing in the simulated river. She was cute as could be:
