Day 86: Sunday, July 10th: After a calm night of peaceful sleep, we got underway and headed out of the South Nation River. We turned upriver on le Riviere des Outaouais (that's "Ottawa River" in French). In a little while, the wind built up to about 15 knots. Being Sunday, we began to see more and more sailboats enjoying the rather hot day. One boat that struck our fancy was this two-masted "character boat":

It was a nice run of about 29 miles to the anchorage across the river from Ottawa where we hoped to be for the night. Sadly, an old derelict steel boat was sunk in the entrance to the anchorage and was blocking the way. We chose this little bay just off the river. Officially, it was in the sector of Hull, Quebec, which has been renamed Gatineau now:

It was amazing to be so close to a major world population center and have such a bucolic view. The view back across the river was also impressive as the Rideau River falls into the Ottawa:

And, just to the right, the skyline of the city of Ottawa:

We spent another peaceful and quiet night -- the last we would have for a few days.
