Day 55: Wednesday, June 1st: We were very rudely awakened in the anchorage this morning by a HUGE wake from a passing boat. Integrity must have rocked 30+ degrees in both directions 6-8 times. Everything got dumped on the deck, cabinets came open and contents spilled. Fortunately, nothing major broke.
Our plan for the day was to cruise up the Sassafras River the six miles or so to Georgetown, MD and pick up our friend Malcolm Ringel. Malcolm was to spend the day with us aboard Integrity as we cruised up through the Chesapeake and Delaware Canal (the "C&D Canal"). A friend of Malcolm's would pick him up at the Summit North Marina, where we would moor for the night.
As we came into the marina-rich area of Georgetown, this character boat caught our eye:
