Day 46: Monday, May 23rd: We slept late, had a leisurely breakfast, did a few chores and Ruth gathered the laundry to do the weekly (?) wash. Before we threw away the "dead" microwave, Bill decided to try it again. He banged it on the counter ("Hit it with a bigger hammer" theory) and it lit right up! Strange, but true. We'll see what happens.

Then we realized it was 1:00 o'clock and sort of too late to get to any new destinations. So we are staying at Knapp's Narrows Marina another night.

Later this afternoon, we decided a leisurely tour of the town would be pleasant, so we took off. First event was an opening of THE drawbridge:

There are three tiny grocery/convenience stores in town. And that is all. We figured a tour of them would be a good walk. Along the way was this quaint house built in the form of an "X":

The beautiful roses growing in this region this time of year have impressed us. Bill finally decided to "stop and smell the roses":

At the last store, Ruth found "Beer Nuts". You would be surprised, but we have not seen them in any store since we left Atlanta! We bought all they had!

Since we had walked completely out of town by now, we went back to the boat. That's the way it was this quiet Monday in this quiet waterman's village.
