Day 44: Saturday, May 21st: Today dawned clear and crisp. Nothing like yesterday! We woke up late, dried out slowly and had homemade pancakes for breakfast. The fishermen had long ago launched their boats and were out enjoying the day. We laughed at how we had "laced" the boat to the wharf in the high winds yesterday:
"Where is a WalMart?" we asked.
"Not one close," he replied.
We were crestfallen. However, Malcolm volunteered to give us one he had but wasn't using. Great friend, that Malcolm! We arranged to meet him at a convenient spot in a couple of days.
Then we motored leisurely down La Trappe Creek and Choptank River, then up Broad Creek into Edge Creek and then San Domingo Creek. This was the "back way" to St. Michaels, MD. We anchored in a very shallow spot and took the dinghy in to a public park and pier. Ruth was fascinated by a cammo boat tied nearby:
