Day 326 - Saturday, March 18th: We slept in this morning just because we could. We finally arose, showered, ate breakfast and caught the free bus (yes, free) into town to do some shopping. We went to several stores, bought some teak treatment, ate lunch and caught the return bus back to the marina. On the way back, Jim and Sue from Water Dancer got on the bus and we confirmed plans to get together tonight.

In the afternoon we walked through some lovely neighborhoods toward the beach. The streets were canopied with old oaks. This street was sand-surfaced while most were paved:

Remembering this area was pummeled by hurricanes in 2004, we were impressed how some homeowners had worked to recover their nice property. This one was really nice with a rich lawn, good color and texture in the plantings, and the house was pretty too [Ruth wrote that sentence].

We arrived at the boardwalk and the beach. This family (little brother, big sister, Mommy and Grand-mommy) were fun. We all enjoyed big sister hunting for her shadow:

People were out in droves on the beach today; it was windy, but warm:

This is also a turtle nesting area (and a Right Whale breeding ground). The signs are all over:

After walking the beach we headed back to the boat and got ready to go out to Water Dancer 'way out at mooring ball #55 for happy hour. This is the view from their back deck back toward our boat about sunset:

Busy place, isn't it? We had a delightful time chatting about boats, the Loop and plans for the next couple of weeks.

We left in the dinghy and found our way back to Integrity. It had been a good day.
