Day 27: Wednesday, May 4th: The radio technician turned out to be useless, and by noon Bill had given up on him.  At least we were only charged for ½ hour.  For my ham friends, the only thing the tech contributed was an SWR meter that indicated a 3.2:1 SWR.  Not good, but not what is causing the whine in the transmitter.

We had decided to stay another night in Beaufort due to a serious "Nor'easter" that NOAA was predicting.  To salvage some of the stop in Beaufort, we walked the mile into town and roamed the touted Beaufort waterfront.  The only thing we found worthwhile was the North Carolina Maritime Museum.  It was delightful:
