Day 263: Saturday, January 14th: The weather forecast was right on. About 2:00am we were awakened by very high winds, blowing rain and a chop in the marina basin. Shades of "The Perfect Storm!"
As a matter of fact, the same conditions that made the "Perfect Storm" existed here now. A strong low pressure area off the Atlantic coast combined with a strong high pressure in the Ohio valley combined to rocket strong north winds down through most of Florida. WOW, it was windy!
In spite of the excellent protection there was a good chop in the marina basin…:
The water was too choppy to allow a good picture of the ten or so manatees we saw, but this is a picture of the rather realistic sculpture on the park grounds.
