Day 256: Saturday, January 7th: We took a minute this morning to check out the hull wax job the boat detailers did on Integrity. To the left is one of the floats they used to stand on as they waxed. Right is the nice shiny hull:

We have talked a lot about our new friends, Jim and Sue aboard Wave Dancer, who are preparing to start the Great Loop in February. Here they are aboard their boat (yes, the name is being changed):

Another Looper couple we talk about in these logs that we met last spring at the AGLCA Rendezvous in Beaufort, SC, is Connie and Rick aboard Cori. Here's a picture of them aboard their boat:

About noon we said goodbye to our friends here at Regatta Pointe Marina and got underway. We were headed back to Cortez to visit for a couple of days with Casey and Bob Hupp (CaySea) at their condominium.

The short (thirteen mile) trip was easy in spite of rather cold temperatures and a pesky chop on Tampa Bay as we turned south into Anna Maria Sound.

We arrived at the condominium's private marina slip without mishap. We had a home-cooked supper planned (in the condo, of course) of shepherd's pie and veggies. We arrived in the condo to see a very rare sight:

A fire in the fireplace in Central Florida!?!!

Nonetheless, it was a delightful evening.
