Day 254: Thursday, January 5th: We had been invited to brunch at Casey and Bob's today. Their condo is very nicely laid out and decorated in sort of a jungle motif. Plants and sculptures accent the rooms:
Then we went for a drive through the area with Bob and Casey. We drove down Bradenton Beach and over to the old Village of Longboat Key. This is the originally settled area on the island of Longboat Key and is very nicely kept up. The highlight of the Village is the hundreds of wild resident peacocks.
We spotted a flock of thirteen of these wild birds roosting on the front stoop of a house:
Bob and Casey's condo sports a very nice pool and hot tub. Ruth jumped at the chance to spend some time at this facility:
We invited Bob and Casey to join us for the short run to the marina; Casey joined us while Bob tended to some business and then drove over to pick Casey up. It was a nice trip but an approaching cold front brought cloud cover and winds.
We had Stef and Roy from Dream Catcher V join us for a Mexican supper and the six of us went to a highly recommended spot. It had a broad range of choice, but sadly, none seemed memorable.
Then back to our respective boats and condos for the night.
