Day 24, Sunday, May 1st. RUTH'S BIRTHDAY! And an important "0" one for her. The cold front finally came through last night and rinsed the boat off. In fact, it was still raining this morning. While we were waiting for the rain to stop, our next door dockmate, Kenny Gross aboard Kokomo invited us to visit with his ten-foot long boa constrictor, Bubba, who was napping on the aft deck:
We finally got underway and headed north. It was an improving weather day. We stopped for fuel at a not-so-expensive stop, Myrtle Beach Yacht Club. Hard to miss, as it has a noticeable landmark guarding it's entrance:
We immediately meet this formidable thing. "Swing bridge" is what they call it. We had to wait until the hour (45 minutes) for it to open:

We wanted to celebrate Ruth' big birthday, but being on the boat sort of limited us celebration-wise. However, Ruth was determined to have a birthday cake:
