Day 225: Wednesday, December 7th: A quiet moment for Pearl Harbor Day today…
Also, today our horn arrived! While you have been enjoying our various experiences, we have been without a horn since we left the Straits of Macinac back in August! Seems the lifetime guaranteed, all stainless steel horn that we bought as part of fitting out in Savannah last winter decided to quit working.
After many attempts to resurrect the horn we finally shipped it back to the manufacturer in New Jersey. This we did at Shady Grove Marina on the Tennessee River just north of Chattanooga. Oh! That was on November 5th, over a month ago. Without boring you with more detail, the replacement horn arrived today, and Bill installed and tested it. It works!
Thank goodness! The Coast Guard requires such a horn to be legal!
Also today we greeted the arrival of Wings with friends Tom and Mary Jane aboard. We saw them last in Grand Harbor at the north end of the Tenn-Tom Waterway (as with Miss Happ who came in yesterday). We are still not the tail-gunners of the Loopers!
Our plan is to leave here tomorrow - if the weather cooperates.
