Day 212: Thursday, November 24th: Happy Thanksgiving! It's hard to believe the "holidays" are here!

Several of the boats - us, Et Cetera, Catnip Too and Pelican - decided it would be fun to have a Thanksgiving potluck supper in the boaters' lounge. So Ruth coordinated dishes with the others and began making yummy smells in the galley. Somehow she got saddled with four dishes to make, but it surely smelled good!

Meanwhile, Bill went looking for photo ops. Here is Integrity in front of the laundry/lounge/restroom/shower facility:

Then, as Bill was walking the dock, he spotted this old boat:

The original owner of this boat, Red Diamond IV -- was Bill's father! It was purchased in about 1955 and Bill father sold it finally in about 1974. The family had lost track of her since then. The boat is in pretty rough condition, but brought back many fond memories.

We gathered in the lounge area for "Potluck" Thanksgiving Dinner. Here, left to right are Linda (Et Cetera), Joan (Catnip Too), Wendy & Bob (Pelican), Ron (Et Cetera), Mary Lou (Catnip Too), Bill & Ruth:

Four of the gang were from Canada so the other four showed them how we do Thanksgiving. We had the usual - roasted turkey, cranberry relish, cranberry sauce, dressing, mashed sweet potato casserole, whipped potatoes, turnips, yeast rolls, salad, wine and…well, it was plentiful!

We all ate well and laughed a lot; it was a total success. Ron washed dishes and the others dried them and packed leftovers.

We slept like logs.
