Day 209: Monday, November 21st: It rained most of last night and the prediction was for more heavy rain with wind and cold today. That's exactly what happened, so we stayed put at the quaint Marina Cove. Bill had developed a bad cold so he loafed around the boat feeling sorry for himself:
Later in the afternoon the rain stopped and Fred, the marina manager, drove us in his pickup truck to visit the Tom Bevill Visitor Center, right next to the Tom Bevill Lock and Dam. The Center serves as the Tenn-Tom's official visitor center. It was built to look like an antebellum mansion in the Greek revival style. It is quite lovely and is very authentic. It houses several displays about the Tenn-Tom including a huge relief map of the waterway. We forgot to take the camera but here is a picture we took the next day from the Waterway:
