Day 208: Sunday, November 20th: This morning we made all preparations to get underway, and then went with Ted and Helen from Act II to visit the Waverly Mansion. This is a fascinating antebellum mansion that was completed in the mid-1800s. At one time it had some 50,000 acres of land growing cotton and making everything from hats to methane gas for the lamps in the mansion. It has 8,000 square feet of interior space and the entry/foyer is 65 feet to the top:
Ruth did a little laundry while Bill planned the next couple of days' travel. After a Mexican supper aboard, we went to bed.
We traversed one lock today for a trip total of 150.
