Day 183: Tuesday, October 18th: Today brought another foggy morning so we waited to get underway. The fog burned off about 10:30 so we headed out of the little bay we were in and onto Watts Bar Lake. This is the nice view that greeted us as we moved onto the big part of the lake:

Thankfully we had only planned to go a short 30 miles to our next anchorage, so the late start didn't make much difference. We turned off the main channel at Mile 558 (that's in the middle of nowhere again). Picking our way between islands, we came upon a lovely little cove that was very peaceful. This is what it looked like back toward the main part of the lake:

Right next to us was a dilapidated little house on a point of land that was for sale. It needed a little cleaning up, but was otherwise a pretty setting; you can barely see the house in the woods:

On the other side of the cove the developers were scraping the land for a new subdivision; progress had arrived at Watts Bar Lake. The picture is a little dim due to the sun setting:

The anchorage was well protected and we slept soundly.
