Day 181: Sunday, October 16th: Surprisingly, everyone slept a little late this morning - even our guests: daughter Lisa and granddaughter Ann. Well, they said they slept well, but we suspect the boat was a strange environment for them. On a boat there are strange sounds all night, like the AGLCA burgee squeaking on its staff as the wind blows it.
Ruth made her scratch pancakes for breakfast. Yummy!
Of course we had to take another boat ride. This time, we decided to head upriver and see if we could find the TVA Sequoyah nuclear power plant again. We did. The giant cooling towers seemed to be idle:
We returned to the marina and Ruth caught this picture of the welcome sign and the rather unusual marker light:
Sadly, time came for Lisa and Ann to go home. We got this last picture before they left:
We went to Sidney's, the restaurant next door to the marina that has been there since the hills. We spotted the crew of Duck Puddle and invited them to join us. It was fun and the food was quite good!
We brought home a "doggy box" and went to bed. We had a rendezvous to make with friends about 143 miles up the Tennessee River on Thursday and didn't want to miss it. Tomorrow would be a long travel day.
