Day 175: Monday, October 10th: We had invited Bill's brother, Mason, to visit from Birmingham today. Before he arrived, Ruth made a quick grocery run in the dock master's SUV and then did some laundry (while Bill loafed).

Mason arrived right on schedule; we did a little catching up on family, and then went out for a ride around the lake. Ruth was taking pictures, as usual, and told Mason to "smile"; he did as told:

Both Bill and Mason had grown up boating on Lake Guntersville and it was fun to check out some of our old anchoring sites and creeks. One place that was new to them was this building. It seemed to be associated with an adjacent county park and campground. Rather a different looking building on the lake:

We puttered around a bit more before going back to the marina. Mason had to leave around 4:00pm so we said goodbye until next time.

About dusk, a 100-foot long Hatteras luxury yacht from Ft. Lauderdale, FL named Freedom pulled in to the marina and moored right behind Integrity. We got a picture in the fading twilight:

The yacht was driven by a professional captain and had a first mate and, presumably, a chef on board. The owner was aboard but was just a passenger it seemed. They planned to take on about 1,000 gallons of fuel the next morning (at $2.999 per gallon). Not our kind of boating.
