Day 174: Sunday, October 9th: Today was a leisurely day, so Bill went "dock-walking". He found a few classic boats that he had to take pictures of.

First was an old 32-foot Grand Banks sedan in perfect condition:

In the next slip over was this 1961 Matthews sedan, also in perfect condition:

There was this old motorsailer (not in very good condition, but a classic nonetheless):

This classic Shucker 440 was in better shape:

In the boat yard was this 1963 or 1964 Corvette. It was pristine. Sadly, it was behind a chain link fence, so Bill could not get up close to check it out:

The marina we were in, Alred Marina, is rather large and run by super nice people:

They have a big ship's store and a boat brokerage in addition to the marina:

Today was a good day to host visitors. In the afternoon Bill's brother's wife (sister-in-law, some would say), Jackie, and his niece, Emily, came to visit. We took a boat ride:

Bill turned the helm over to Emily and she drove all around the lake with almost no instructions needed. She's a natural!

We had a supper of hot dogs and homemade potato salad. It was good to visit with them, and we were sad to bid adieux.
