Day 168-171: Monday, October 3rd through Thursday, October 6th: Monday the official Rendezvous started. Ron and Eva Stob, the Directors of America's Great Loop Cruisers Association (AGLCA) put on this event. They founded the organization in the mid-90s, and host a rendezvous twice a year.
The four-day format features presentations by various experts each morning. In the afternoon are Coast Guard Vessel Safety Checks, "Looper Crawl," and/or fun and games such as dinghy races. The "Looper Crawl" is a sort of open house when various Loopers volunteer to have you tour their boats. About 5:30 each afternoon is Happy Hour, then supper catered by the lodge. After supper is an evening program, usually on a lighter vein.
All in all, the days are quite full and fun. This week there were about 250 people in attendance - some in boats, some staying in the lodge and some in the campground.
