Day 161: Monday, September 26th: The rain had almost stopped and the wind had died down by 6:00am this morning, so we got underway and hoped to make up for lost time.
Early on, we saw something neither of us had ever seen before. It was a Bald Eagle standing on the ground. We have only seen them flying or high in trees. I know, you would never know what those white spots were if we hadn't told you. This is as close as we could get:
