Day 155: Tuesday, September 20th: After some discussion we decided to go explore Barkley Lake for a day or two since we had some slack in our schedule. Barkley is the lake formed in the Cumberland River by Barkley Dam on the east side of Land Between the Lakes (LBL) in Kentucky. LBL is a National Recreation Area administered by the National Park Service. As such, development is not permitted and the whole area is a wildlife preserve.
We did some final chores (more laundry and a pumpout). About 10:45am we got underway and slowly cruised south (upstream) down the lake. Yes, both the Cumberland and the Tennessee flow north in this area. It was a pretty day, but hot. At about 2:00pm we poked our nose into Poplar Bay, the site of Buzzard Rock (which we never identified). It's near the little town of Kuttawa; we anchored there for the night.
The anchorage was pretty and quiet.
We "vegged out" and finally went to bed.
