On Day 15, Friday, April 22nd, we got underway from McClellanville early (for us - 9:00 a.m.). We cruised north into Winyah bay in a building southwest wind that was on our stern (behind us). However, the building current was on our nose. Bummer. We had trouble moving more than five knots (about 5.5 mph). We cruised past Georgetown, SC and up into the Waccamaw River. This was a wide river at first with more interest than the grasslands yesterday.

The cypress trees stood out in the river and became more and more prevalent as we moved north and east through the river. Many people feel this is the prettiest section of the Atlantic Intercoastal Waterway; we tend to agree.

It got prettier as we went. It was fun trying to identify the various birds. Turtles sunned on the logs:

We finally arrived at Wacca Wache Marina in Murrell's Inlet, SC. Nice quiet spot:

We tied up next to Peter and Irene Erickson aboard Almost Home whom we met at the AGLCA Rendezvous. They are also doing the "Loop," but started in Buffalo, NY. They cruise at about 30 mph, then sit for a day or two. We were stern to stern:
