Day 139: Sunday, September 4th: For the first time on the trip we couldn't find a marina down the way that had a slip for us for tonight (Labor Day Weekend). So we stayed in South Haven. Ruth did some cleaning chores while Bill studied and planned the routes ahead.

Later in the day we walked into town and ate lunch at a sidewalk café. Then we walked over to a nearby park where there was an arts and crafts show in progress. On the way, we crossed this bridge with tons of flowers adorning it. Ruth identified them as Wax Leaf Begonias:

The crafts show was fun. There were many booths set up with everything imaginable being sold. It was well attended:

The park setting made it even more enjoyable. However we managed to buy nothing. Not even an "elephant ear" or "funnel cake".

On the way back to the boat we got to see a drawbridge from a different perspective than we have had lately:

This charter/tour boat, Friends Good Will was just coming back into the harbor. We got a picture of it yesterday, but here you can see how crowded the little river harbor is:

Looking at the marina with Integrity in the foreground you can see that South Haven is a popular boating center!

Tonight brought dinner aboard and an early bedtime. We wanted to have the calmer waves and make it to Michigan City, Indiana tomorrow; that's about 50 miles south.
