Day 107: Still in Peterborough, Ontario
Day 107: Sunday, July 31st: This morning we worked on the boat some more. Ruth waxed and Bill did more preparation of the name boards we have never finished. We were real troopers:
Later we went for a walk along the Riverwalk Trail. It was pretty with little parks every now and then. One was special in that it had bronze sculptures that were particularly appealing. Here are a couple from one:
A little further along was this delightful sculpture/masonry affair. The plaque says "Eskar," but we didn't know who that was:
This is Peterborough's version of a clock tower, now a theatre:
It has some really intricate designs; we couldn't tell if it is wood or masonry:
This will be hard to see probably, but this little sculpted band of four guys was hilarious. They are made from steel rods with coffee pots for heads and drawer pulls for eyes. A store was selling them along with other hand-made goods. This is the four of them:
And here are close-ups of the flute player:
Webmaster note: Actually, I think that's a lute..
Tonight we walked to a nearby Indian Restaurant for some of our favorite cuisine. Yummy!
