We stayed yet another night in Beaufort due to the nor'easter that had developed off shore. That was Saturday night, 4/16. We finally left and traveled about 40 miles north and anchored in a pretty narrow creek called Tom's Point Creek. We had a few sailing neighbors both upstream and down. Thankfully, the wind had died down and we had a restful night:

Next morning (almost noon) we were underway for Charleston, leaving Tom's Point Creek at low tide. This sort of mud bar often lurks just below the surface and tries to catch propellers. We were lucky:

Along the South Carolina "low country" ICW, the back yards (or front yards, depending on how you look at it) include a long pier with a floating dock:

Tucked in between lovely homes along the way was a working boat yard:

Other traffic included a tugboat seemingly looking for his tow:

We cruised under beautiful skies and light winds into Charleston, SC, a most beautiful city! More about Charleston tomorrow!
