On Friday we parked over 50 cars in our Registry Row, what a great turnout! On Saturday we parked 61 cars which filled all our pre-registered spaces. There is no doubt, the 63-67 Sting Ray Registry rows are the most impressive on the entire Corvettes at Carlisle Fun Field!!!
We again want to thank all our members for making Corvettes at Carlisle such a wonderful event each year. Without you we would have no “row” and many people would not have the benefit of seeing all these beautiful old cars.
Saturday was a “fun-packed” day. At 6:15am we began parking arriving Registry members. It was very hectic between then and 8:00am when most of the spaces were filled. Again, what a sight!
As each car was parked Saturday, the Registry member received a Ballot. For the past 20 years, on Saturday, our Registry conducts its own “Peoples Choice car show.” Every member is asked to pick their three favorite cars (not including their own) within the Registry Row and submit the Ballot by 1:30pm to be tallied. The three winners are announced during our yearly meeting (more on meeting below) and they each receive a nice trophy/plaque etc.
Carlisle Event Celebrity Choice judges are also out on the Fun Field early Saturday. You may see some judges already picking cars shortly after 10:00am until 4:00pm.
The VIP luncheon was at 12:00pm, which Dennis and I attended. The food was great, as always, and it was good to hear from Bill and Lance and see so many old friends.
After the luncheon it was time to get back to our Row and start counting ballots and recording any Celebrity Picks that had been selected by then. Also time to get all the door prizes out and prepared to be given away.
At 3:00pm the “Annual” meeting (21st) was held under the Registry Row big tent. All members were invited to attend.
First, we had Lance Miller (co-owner of Carlisle Events) visit us to announce that the 63-67 Sting Ray Registry had won 3rd place for Club participation this year. He presented us with a nice banner and a photo was taken of the Club for next years 2019 program.
Second, Adam Boca (an employee of the National Corvette Museum) made a presentation on the NCM car insurance program. Adam answered questions and he and his team were available in Building “BZ” to speak further on member’s personal insurance needs and provide quotes.
Next we gave a BIG THANK YOU to all the companies and members that either brought door prizes or contributed towards door prizes. Thank you all for your generosity! Thank you’s also went out to volunteers that helped us with parking, counting ballots, manning the registration table and so much more. What a wonderful group of members!
We also apologized for not getting the 2017 write-up completed for the website yet. We were slowed down by some serious family issues and the loss of the pictures taken on our phone. All members were asked if they have any pictures from the 2017 20th celebration to please send them to us (click
to mail photos to me in .jpg format. Once we get the write-up completed we will use these pictures to complete the story. Thanks!
Reminder: Members pre-register for 2019 before the Carlisle Events cut-off date to count toward the parking space allotment. Select 63-67 Sting Ray Registry as your club affiliation. 10% discount during 2018 show and 10% discount if you register during Christmas sale.
The meeting began with the announcement of all the Celebrity Pick winners that we were aware of by 3:00pm. At this time we had 23 picks. The winners were:
Steve Babcock, Phil & Lisa Bozek, Ed and Nancy Curry, Kim Decker, Thomas Fogle, Jordan Grant, Doug Hanner, William Harrison, Roy Hazlett, Don Hyson, Dennis King, Kyle Manseau (car picked twice), Thomas Masteller, SueAnn Schaerer, Terry Shanholtz, Kevin Smith, Bob Tyson, Bill Vogel, Al Wester (two cars won), Pete Womack, and William Wright (two cars won).
Congratulations!
All Celebrity Pick members were reminded to sign the “special Celebrity Pick banner” after the meeting.
Details regarding all these Celebrity Picks below.
We then announced our Peoples Choice car show winners and gave out their award plaques. First place went to Michael Kirshner; Second place went to Don Hyson and Third place went to Ed & Nancy Curry. Congratulations!
Door prizes were then given out. Some of the door prizes included a Dana Forrester print, Corvette America gift certificate, Carlisle Events gift certificate, Car Art work gift certificate, items from Car Art Work, Vette Vues items, hats, and much much more. Door prize winners were: Samuel Adkins, Wayne Augenstein, Steve Babcock, Phil & Lisa Bozek, David Camacho, Mark Conrad, Ed & Nancy Curry, Kim Decker, Thomas Fogle, Jim Hartenstein, Roy Hazlett, Don Hyson, Ken Jurney, Dennis King, John & Dee Kukich, Paul & Jennie Marentette, Ralph Masteller, Michael Porter, Dennis Rosenthal, Tom Selby, George Schaerer, Bill Totzke, Bob Tyson, Pete Womack, and William Wright.
It was great to see so many of you come back Sunday morning to participate in the Celebrity Choice parade and to those of you who stayed later for the “get-together” after the event under the tent.
Thanks again to everyone for making 2018 Corvettes at Carlisle another wonderful event!
See you next year,
Dennis & Cindy

Corvettes at Carlisle 2018 – 21 years and going strong!!
The show started Thursday morning this year. When we arrived from Florida at 9:00 am there were about 15 cars already parked. The tent was set up differently so we were not able to put the “fan” of cars in front like in previous years. By 11:00am the Registry row was ľ full and later in the day there were only a few spaces left. What a way to start the weekend.SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT - NCRS
Many of you were gone on Sunday when we heard this great news for one of our members. At 11:00am Sunday NCRS announced that Nelson & Sandy Smith’s 1965 Corvette had won 1st Place for Concours Prepared B and Best in Show. What an honor, Congratulations!!!!! We all know that a lot of hard work, elbow grease and “patience” went into winning these awards. We are so happy for you.
