63 - 67 Sting Ray Registry
As you know Denny was not there this year. He started a new job at the Cocoa Beach Country Club this year and didn't have enough vacation time saved up to be able to go. He will definitely be attending next year. I want to take this opportunity to especially thank those who helped me get the 5-car set up on Thursday, which we used the rest of the weekend. Thanks to Frank and Colleen Anderson, Roy and Kathy Brotherhood, Tom McCabe, George & Sue Ann Schaerer, Trish and Craig Barnes, and Gary and Mary Harris.
The Chip's Choice theme for this year was "Patriotic Corvettes". There were eleven on display in building T. The only Sting Ray was the 65 Austin Powers Corvette.
Saturday morning began with cars arriving at Registry Row very early. In the afternoon, the Celebrity Judges began selecting their favorite Corvettes parked in the Fun Display areas. At the end of the day, Celebrity Judges had chosen twenty of our members' cars as their favorite Corvettes. See the pictures of all the winners this year by clicking HERE.
Also on Saturday we again held our own People's Choice Car Show. During our annual meeting we announced that Jim Hartenstein won first place:
..and Gary Talor won second place:
We also discussed the future September cruise down the Mississippi in 2011; and gave away door prizes. Some of the winners were: Jim M.; Will H; Roy B; Jim B; George S; Frank C; Jim H; Marlin F; and Jeff C.
On Sunday the Carlisle Celebrity Choice awards were given out and a winner was drawn for the Giveaway Corvette.
Reminder: Be sure to put "63-67 Sting Ray Registry" in the "club affiliation" blank on your Fun Display Registration for 2011. We are all looking forward to another great Corvettes at Carlisle event next year.

This year we displayed a 63, 64, 65, 66 and a 67 Sting Ray in front of our registry tent. It took a lot of time and patience to get it right but was well worth it. We received many favorable comments. We plan to continue to do this type of display in the future. An added feature was that we were able to park our Registry Corvettes back to back with space between to set up our shade canopies and chairs. This layout was very well received by our members. Just a reminder, when you register for Corvettes At Carlisle where the registration form asks for club affiliation you need to insert 63-67 Sting Ray Registry. Our number of spaces are determined by pre-registration and the previous years attendance.
