Installing the SteppIR 3el Antenna
Background

I was first licensed in 1953 at age 14 as KN5AZL in my hometown of Little Rock, Arkansas.  I later upgraded to Advanced Class as K5AZL and, five years later, to W4GKF when I moved to Georgia.

I loved chasing DX and, in 1972, led a DXpedition to Navassa Island as KC4DX.

During my working years, business pressures (I left IBM and started my own software company in 1986) caused me to become inactive in ham radio.  I didn't lose interest, it's just that all my "spare" time was occupied with programming; I think my last contact (probably on 10 meters) was in 1994.
