Christmas dinner must go forward even if
the countertop isn't on the dining island
yet and the dining room is unfinished.
Angel put a temporary plywood top on the
dining island and Voila!
And, anyway, having Kristyn and Matt here
makes up for the unfinished conditions.

This is where things really slow down.
The "finishing" really takes a long time.
We finally came through the great "sink
controversy" with (pretty much) the sink
we wanted in the first place. Don't ask.

The entire project (except for the
library) has received a primer coat
and the french doors from the dining
room to the kitchen are ready to finish.
The wainscoting is done in the dining
room and it's all but finished.

Here's a closeup of the dentil molding
in the dining room. Since the house was
built, no one makes the same kind of
dentil molding so Vince had to make the
