December 2, 2014:
Transferring gear from Warehouse #1 (in Decatur, GA) to Warehouse #2 (in Marietta GA)
One rented U-Haul, one extended bed pickup, one regular pickup, one SUV, one Corvette and six members of the Southeastern DX Club (SEDXC) met today to move a few hundred pounds of gear:
L to R: Neil N4FN, Wey K8EAB, Bob K4UEE and Gregg W6IZT Chaz W4GKF behind the camera and Rich K7SZ hadn't arrived yet.
Fourteen tables, thirteen cots and more
.. and more
An old Air Force guy (Rich K7SZ) and a old Navy guy (Wey K8EAB) waiting for assignments
(Don't volunteer for anything!)
So our fearless leader says, "Guys, can you determine if this is one piece of coax or two, and how long is it/them?" Really?!?
"Oh, and here are a few more coils.."
This one was determined to be one piece about 215' long. Length determined the hard way..
A few hours later, everything was across town, unloaded and ready to stack in the new wareouse:
On the right end (heavy end) of this 50lb roll of shrink-wrap, is Neil N4FN who is 80 years young.
On the left end, helping, is Wey K8EAB
Now, the best part: BarbeQUE!

December 28, 2014: Loading the gear from Warehouse #2 into the 20' container bound by rail for Savannah GA
Did you see the film "Captain Phillips"? Does the owner of this container give you the shivers?

One of the most important items.
Starting the loading of 300 gallons of drinking water.
Bob K4UEE writing a check for 300 gallons of drinking water!
The folks we bought the water/containers from ReallyGoodWater.com
The first attempt: loaded (but leaking...)
First thought: send Jenna KJ4PQV to mop up on the train/ocean trip.
Well, she just fits in there really well..
It was determined that a few were leaking from the necks, so they all get pulled from the racks and the racks returned
A rank of 32 jugs on the floor..
.. a plywood sheet is cut to fit..
.. and a second rank is added along with room for two generators.
Another piece of plywood to button up the water stack, and
loading continued.

Headsets? Do we have headsets!?!?.
Rigs ready to pack.
One station per box.
We'll be eatin' in style!.
Don't leave home without it.
