CY9C St. Paul Island Activation planned for
August 26 - September 5, 2024

Countdown to CY9C St. Paul Island:

St. Paul Island is #50 on Clublog.

The St Paul Island CY9C DXpedition is scheduled for August 26 - September 5, 2024.  The team will use two helicopters and a boat to transport the operators and all of the gear to the Northeast Island of St Paul.  There are ten experienced DXpeditioners and contesters on the 2024 team.

All bands from 160-6 meters are planned.  Antennas will include Yagis on 6-20 meters, with elevated sloping dipoles and verticals on the low bands.  CW will be emphasized but with a good mix of SSB, FT8 (using Super Fox) and RTTY.  The team will also be on SAT and EME.

This is a "tent and generator" DXpedition.  The team will use seven Honda EU-2200i generators along with North Face sleeping tents, two large operations tents and a MESS tent.

This DXpedition will take place from the small, rocky and windswept Northeast Island.  There are no trees on this island.  DXpeditions to the Northeast Island are limited to a narrow window in the summer.  The team is grateful to the Canadian Department of Fisheries and Oceans for granting our team permission for this DXpedition.

The CY9C DXpedition team is extremely grateful for a large grant from the Northern California DX Foundation (NCDXF) to help sponsor this DXpedition.

And remember that St. Paul counts for POTA (CA-0122), Lighthouse (STP-002) and IOTA (NA-094) awards.
