The Georgia Hold'em Poker Run is annual fun event that we host. It begins with a car event taking participants through some nice rural Georgia countryside. Teams draw five cards along the way and the team with the best hand receives a permanent trophy and their names inscribed on the Georgia Poker Run Winners trophy:

The 2005 Georgia Hold'em Poker Run was held on Saturday, September 17th. There were twelve participating teams along with four hosts/workers (Ron and Robin Floyd and Chaz and Gael) and one non-driving participant, Terry Edwards (the lovely and talented Annie was unable to come this year).
The teams drew numbers from the Esmeralda Cup (for old times sake):
Happily, all twelve teams made it through all three Checkpoints!
Then Chaz went off to the computer to rank the hands. Before the Run we had no idea what it would take to be the winning hand. After all, we had twelve players (teams) and five decks of cards. We thought that maybe a high pair would be enough to win.
We were wrong!
