So, five wineries on Wednesday, five on Thursday, four on Friday -- and now only TWO on Saturday!
We decided on a late start today as we're driving to Napa Valley, St. Helena for the day and that's an hour's drive no matter which of the three routes we take. We chose to take the northern-most route which is shoreter but a bit tortuous.
Our first stop today is a Gott's Roadside which is famous fast-food restaurant in St. Helena; they have three other locations. It's been there serving great food for decades.
The first winery (after lunch was Delectus. This winery was suggested by Group #2 participant Newsom Baker.
The next (and last winery) is Flora Springs. Gael and I love this place!
After a great time at Flora Springs it was just a half-mile drive to our closing restaurant, Brix in Napa. We ate outdoors in the garden. Just beautiful.
All that's left is the hour drive home -- in the dark...On the way back I mistakenly chose the WORST way back to Santa Rosa. Make a note. If ANYONE ever suggests to you a drive between Sonoma and Napa on a road called "Trinity" or "Oakville Grade" -- do NOT get into the car! It was absolute hell. I vowed on the spot to never, ever, ever do that again.
And, so, it's over. The next morning everyone headed home; and I hope they had as good a time as Gael and I did!
