This one had been visited in the past by all of us, but during the time when it had been stolen. It's back now and we wanted to change from
to
for this one.
Bill picked me up in "Froggy" and we got to the parking spot only 2-3 minutes before Rich and Ina. This is a lovely quiet place. We walked pretty quickly to the spot where it was supposed to be -- and there it was. Rich and Ina bailed on doing any more with us (this was their fourth today) so it's just Billy and me on our own from here on.
Bill wanted to try "Hobo Highway". I was a bit leery as the description referred to "Urban Outdoorsmen" in the area. Rich and I had earlier driven to the parking place and decided we weren't dressed for it, but today..
This one is definitely a "3" terrain. Found it, though (I'm glad I had my stick) and left a GOOHF card and a purple alligator. Kudzu and bamboo to bushwhack through and me w/o my machete.
The description kinda gave this one away. Bill had already done it so he just hung around ready to laugh at me. Found it quickly.
The lake is lovely. Bill had also already done this one so he let me find it on my own. Bushwhacked into the woods off the trail and was able to get right to the coordinates. Found where it was supposed to be -- and, no cache. Bill was surprised that it wasn't where he remembered. We were about to give up when Bill spotted it. IMO the coodinates are 25-50' farther from the lake than the cache was. Good spot, nice hike.
