Gael and I were vacationing at Hilton Head and took along eight sheets describing nearby caches. This one, the "Pinckney Island Trail" was our first try. Pickney Island is just off Hilton Head and is a wildlife preserve. I'm a GeoCaching novice (having only spent a day with Rich last week learning the ropes) and this is Gael's first time. It's hot. VERY hot. Drove to the parking area on the island and took off with the GPS receiver and a trinket for the cache. Found it in good order and took a handwarmer and left a little pink sqooshie figure. Failed to bring along the camera so no pix uploaded. You can read out log on the cache page (link above)/

We next tried for the "Pinckney Too!"cache but my inexperience led us off on a very long walk in the indicated direction. We ran out of trail (did I mention it was hot?) and by the time I discovered that we should have been on the main trail longer (as it wound around the island) we were too pooped to pop. We'll try again in July (when it won't be so hot ????) when the Brits are down with us.

We did pick up and discard a bunch of debris; makes you feel good about the adventure.

Got a nice email from the first cache-owner after I posted our log.

So now I've found TWO; not going all that well..
