Chaz 'n Gael take Europe 2011

Saturday, September 17th - to London, England

SWMBO decided that we would leave for the airport (via our Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Auhority or MARTA) at 6pm.  The British Airways flight is scheduled to depart at 9:15p so that should give us (much more than) ample time.

Cathleen Blumberg (and grandson Connor) picked us up at 5:45p and we were on the train and underway by 6pm as planned.

British Airways has a very nice Club Lounge on the E concourse and, since we were checked in and on the E concourse by 7pm, we had lots of time to enjoy their facility.

Our flight to London is on the Boeing 777 (Gael's first "triple seven" experience, my second) in "Club World" class.  This is what most airlines would call Business Class.  The seating is unique in my experience.  Each passenger has a kind of pod with the ability to sit bolt upright, lie flat or at any angle in between.  Pretty darned nice.

The flight was delayed until almost 10pm but 6½ hours later we deplaned at London Heathrow.
