We agreed to meet and hit the highway this morning at 8am. Ray and Audrey Wright showed up right on time and we had a four Corvette caravan for the first time:
Ray and Audrey are going to Denver for a visit so we're together on I-70 most of the day until we split off on Highway 24 at Limon, Colorado for Colorado Springs.
Things went well; I was surprised at how interesting the topography was as we breezed, uneventfully, through Kansas. I was expecting wheat and cornfields to the horizon on both sides of the highway, but that wasn't the case; and, it wasn't all that flat. All in all, a nice ride.
We stopped for lunch at Limon (pronounced "Lymon") and said farewell to Ray and Audrey. After lunch, it was just the three Corvettes for the one hour+ drive to Colorado Springs (called simply "the Springs" around here).
