Our Caravan to
Vettes On The Rockies (VOTR) 2006
Day 6: Thursday, July 20, 2006
Branson, Missouri
Today is our last day in Branson. The town signficantly exceeded all our expectations. Except for the heat (and it's hot everwhere in the US this week) and the traffic (which is awful) the "Branson Experience" has been just great.
Today we pretty much did nothing until lunchtime when we again became the "Corvette Trio" and headed to MacFarlain's Restaurant for lunch.
When nicely filled, we wandered through the Engler Block of craft shops. Saw some beautiful things but only Buzz and Jackie bought anything: a lovely Christmas tree ornament.
Back to the condo and a relaxing afternoon of reading and snoozing.
About 7pm we split up for dinner. Buzz, Jackie, Ron and Robin went to Fall Creek Steak and Catfish House; a restaurant which is best known for the unique delivery system they use for dinner rolls. They toss 'em to you.
Food and service was disappointing and Robin (for one) didn't care for having food thrown at her..
The saving grace, however, was ice cream here:
Gael and I went to Elenita's Mexican Cafe for Margaritas and quesadillas. We all got gas for our trip in the morning and I bought two new FRS radios. Seems that both of my FRS radios crapped out on transmit. Buzz and Ron helped me dispose of them:
