    How this Corvette Came To Be Mine

    Here I am taking delivery of my new 2002 Electron Blue with Mod Red interior Z06 on 3 Nov 2001. I've put nearly 6K mile on her since delivery and planning on putting a lot more on her. I was fortunate enough to find my Z06 through Rick "Corvette" Conti at Spitzer Chevrolet, Amherst, OH. I have never had so personal and special treatment from any dealer like I got from Rick. I flew from Huntsville, AL to Cleveland, OH where I was picked up and taken to the dealership for delivery of my new Z06. After a short time of filling out the paper work for the "Interest Free Financing" offered by GM on cars at that time, I hit the road with a big grin on my face and drove her back to Alabama - I'm still grinning when I drive her.

    I registered for the Historic Motorama shortly after I got the paperwork filled out for the license. My tag reads "IFLYZ06" which gets a lot of questions as theres a lot of folks who don't know what a Z06 is, so I get to explain with pride what the current Z06 Corvette is, how it got its name from the 63 Z06 and how the heritage of the Z06 is now continuing. I was at the C5 Birthday Bash when the drawing for the Primary and Alternate nominees were made. My name was drawn for the Alternate - of course I was hoping to be the Primary. I had my picture made with Dave Hill as the Alternate. Both of us have the Electron Blue so we have something in common as well as loving Corvettes. The Bash had a good turnout and is a very good event to attend. Thanks for the chance to represent such a proud Heritage as we have though our Corvettes and remember to Wave!
