Our beast is a dark red metallic/ black leather interior car originally delivered to J.K.J. Chevrolet in Vienna, VA. Her delivered price, which included two options (electronic air-conditioning and dual removable roof panels), was $60,620.
We purchased her from her second owner, Jim Salko of Ashton, MD, on January 17, 2000. At the time of purchase she had traveled approximately 10,600 miles. Jim sold the car after suffering a back injury that made it difficult for him to drive a 6-speed car.
She was shipped via enclosed carrier to us in February of 2000 and has been in Mico, Texas since then, garaged and covered.
She currently has just over 12,000 miles on her odometer. To the best of my knowledge and that of her previous owner, she has never been outside in the rain or snow, a condition that may change next June.
The car is as it was delivered including the original battery and tires. There are three small scratches on the left front bumper but otherwise the exterior is perfect. She has never been damaged or repaired.
The engine bay is as new. The previous owner provided me with a supply of the original oil filters made specifically for ZR1s. I have added a computer chip to eliminate the 1-4 shift issue.
Her undercarriage is also as new. She is cleaned after each run using a lift to ensure that the effects of the drive are removed.
I have her original window sticker, the owner's presentation kit, and a number of brochures that were available in 1990 describing the car.
She is one of four Corvettes we own: the others being a 2001 Z06 (my driver: 13,000 miles in 3 months), a 1998 silver roadster driven by my wife, and a 1967 red/red roadster currently in restoration.
