Dave & Billie Satchell's 1971 Corvette

(Primary Participant)

The owner of the company that I work for, knowing that my husband and I were Corvette enthusiasts, mentioned that he had a Corvette he was considering selling. It had been stored for approximately 10 years.

At the time we had two Corvettes a '68 convertible and a '95 coupe. Curiosity about this car, a '71 big block convertible, got the best of us. A visit to see the car was arranged, however the owners wouldn't be home but the Corvette would be available to inspect and drive. Upon our arrival we were greeted by one very large golden retriever named "Molsen", who easily controlled his domain, including the Corvette. After gaining Molsen's acceptance we were able to inspect the car and with a short road test, the conclusion was that we wanted this Corvette.

After our first offer, it took fourteen months to come to an agreement, finally the car was ours. The '71 is now shown frequently and has received numerous awards. The '71 convertible, 454, Steel Cities Gray, air car, now shares the garage with a '63 Silver Blue coupe and a '01 Pewter convertible.

We are excited about winning our slot in the caravan and participating in the Motorama!
