Joel & Kristy Rollins' 1993 Corvette

(Alternate Participant)

Wow, we've never won a lottery before! We're overjoyed that we were selected as the alternates for the 1993 slot. Now, if Judy Yanko could just come down with a bad cold next June... naw, just kidding!

We lusted after a Corvette for many years. When the C5's were introduced in 1997 we just couldn't contain ourselves any longer and purchased a new 1999 six speed coupe in October 1998. It's been a love affair ever since. A few months after we purchased the C5, we spotted a 1993 Ruby convertible for sale. We instantly loved the unique color of the 40th Anniversary editions and knew we just had to add it to our lives as well. Although the Ruby has over 40,000 miles on it, we decided that would be the car we'd take to car shows. Since then, our 1993 has earned five Best of Class awards at various car shows in the region.

We try to take a road trip to a Corvette happening at least once a month in one of our cars. We've driven to Bowling Green four times in the last two years to attend one function or at-other, we've driven to Road Atlanta for the Petit Le Mans, and been to a variety of car shows in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas, and Louisiana.

We've met so many great people at various events and we're now proudly part of several clubs: the C5 Registry, the 40th Anniversary P-egistry, the Longhorn Corvette Club (Austin, TX), the C5 Fighter Squadron and we became lifetime members of the National Corvette Musuem in 1999. Our newest endeavor is the 50th Anniversary Corvette Registry, of which we are the founders. (We've had a deposit on a 2003 50th-Anniversary Edition since 1999.)
