Bob & Sandy Morse's 2000 Corvette

(Primary Participant)

    MY BIRTHDAY PRESENT

Our 2000 red Corvette Convertible is very special to me. Bob bought me a 1995 black Corvette for my birthday in 1995, but red has always been my favorite color. He had a red 1959 when we were first married. He thought I needed a red Corvette, also. The 2000 Y2K Vette seemed to be the right one and the time to make my dream come true.

Our red convertible has VN # 00042 and was built the first day of production. We arrived in Bowling Green, Kentucky to see it displayed in the National Corvette Museum and received a very warm welcome with a plant tour which was included with the Museum Pickup Package.

We have had wonderful memories in this vehicle. Our first long trip was on Rte. 66 from Toledo, Ohio to Chicago, Illinois to jump on Rte. 66 all the way to Santa Monica, California with 12 other Glass City Corvette Club members and their Corvettes. What a great time.

Besides our Bowling Green trips, which included the 1999 Caravan shortly after we received the car, we have driven from Toledo to Washington, DC to Skyline Drive and onto the Blue Ridge Parkway to the Smoky Mountains and back to Toledo.

Each trip has been a joy and many happy moments. We are planning a Natchez Trace trip with our club members in April of 2002.

Bob has tried low speed autocross and drag racing a few times. We both love the ride and comfort and the moments we have shared together in "Y 2 Vet".
