Howie Maxwell's 1961 Corvette

(Alternate Participant)

I purchased this car from the original owner who used it as his daily driver for many years and spent much time driving it between Ohio, where he was stationed in the service, and Pennsylvania, where he had family. Several of the reasons why I was able to purchase the car was that he tried to keep the car original and only used original GM parts, which we all know became expensive and hard to find. Secondly, his insurance was becoming expensive, so he sold he car.

This 1961 Corvette is Honduras Maroon, Black interior with a white convertible top. It is equipped with a 270 hp-dual carb engine and a 4-speed transmission.

The car has received numerous awards after its body-on restoration by myself. It has received many NCRS Top Flight Awards, a Duntov Award in 1991 in California, a Bloomington Gold Award, several Sam Foltz' Awards and was given the first Founder's Award in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. This car is driven to most of the car shows and has been driven across the country many times.
