We started reviewing our options. Would it be a classic for the days when we were in high school or should we opt for the new technology and creature comforts of a late model? Three years later of research, education and saving led up to the date we found the car we were looking for.
While on a business trip/vacation in 1990 to Florida we stopped by the Toy Store in Clear Water. There we found the car we had been looking for, a 1989 black coup in mint condition with only 4,000 miles. It was newer than we thought we were going to buy but we had done our homework and knew it was a good value. We arranged for the dealership to deliver our car in a couple of weeks. Back to Indiana we went to finish planting our crops. After three weeks we decided to go back to Florida with our car carrier to bring it home.
We left on a Friday evening. Drove eighteen hours down and loaded the car. We then started back and arrived home on Sunday night, our new toy was home. What an adventure, and it didn't stop then!
We were in the original caravan for the Grand Opening of the Museum which will remain one of our cherished memories. We returned as life members for the fifth year anniversary. We are loyal supporters of the museum and it has been an honor to serve as the Ambassador for the Circle City Corvette Club. We look forward to meeting all of you as we caravan in this historic event.
The adventure just keeps getting better!
