Jerry & Bev Kohn's 1962 Corvette
(Primary Participant)

"Luck Of The Draw"
Our 1962 Corvette was the "Give Away" Car at the Corvettes @ Carlisle show in 1987. We could not believe our luck..... we had been looking for a really nice original 1962 and they gave us one. It was pretty much all original, except it had been painted what we call "Carlisle Red". We knew that one day we would restore it and it would again be the original Ermine white. A few years later Carlisle Productions contacted us and ask if we would bring the car back for a "Give Away" Car reunion. We had started the restoration process and now had a very important deadline. Taking the car back to the fairgrounds in Carlisle was great fun. Later that year we showed it at the Chicago Chevy Vettefest and took home a Golden Spinner award. The following year we took the car to the NCRS regional in Indianapolis and brought home a Top Flight award, but the highlight of the weekend was taking it for a trip around the famous Indy 500 track. Until the spring of 2001 our solid axle Corvette was on display in our showroom at Corvette Central. When we decided to get it back on the road and have some fun with it we had no idea what was in store for us. Luck came our way again when we won a place in the National Corvette Museum's Historic Motorama.
